Born in Kings Heath on November 17, 1946, Martin Barre’s extraordinary guitar skills and innovative techniques have made him a legendary figure in rock music. He is best known for his long-standing role in the iconic rock band Jethro Tull.
After beginning his musical career playing the flute and saxophone before switching to the guitar. In 1968 Martin joined Jethro Tull at the beginning of an illustrious career. His signature solo in “Aqualung” is celebrated as one of the greatest guitar riffs in rock history.
